Writing to a company for freebies for the first time?

Writing to a company for freebies for the first time? Topic: Write letter online for free
May 25, 2019 / By Amoz
Question: Recently, I have heard about people writing to companies and receiving free stuff/food. I think that this is really interesting and would like to give it a go over Summer :) I was wondering , when writing a complimentary letter to a company do you need to directly ask for freebies? Any answers and stories would be greatly appreciated, Thank you :)

Typically companies only give away coupons or discounts for two reasons: appeasement and reward. Keep in mind that companies are in business to make a profit and giving away stuff just to give it away is often counterproductive and costly. That said, if you have a legitimate complaint or compliment then by all means pass it along but do not say you expect any type of reward or compensation. You could ask if there are discount coupons available online or a membership you could join for offers but to blatantly ask for free stuff looks suspect. Companies want to keep you happy and coming back but if they are paying you (with freebies) to use their product/restaurant what are they really gaining?

If you're young and you look like you're in high school, the assumption probably is that you're just in there to kill time and you won't be spending anything. It's their job to give you freebies, especially with higher end products, most people aren't willing to shell out 50 bucks for a foundation if they don't know how it will work with their skin. So by giving you freebies they're hoping you will like the product and come back for the full size. It's their job to suck up to you, and sell as much as they can. That's all it was. Bad products won't 'ruin' your face. They can clog your pores and break you out, but that sort of thing generally isn't permanent. Most makeup artists say that you should buy high end expensive foundation, powder and eyeshadow, and buy inexpensive eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss, because the formulations of those products between high end and drugstore brands are almost identical.

I use expensive and cheap make-up. I do not think there is a difference! It totally depends on the product.

Good Question. :-) I usually only write when I'm am not happy with what I bought. That's when I get free stuff. BUT when I think about it, it's NOT free, because I purchased something to begin with and pretty much only get to replace it with the same thing I complained about.

~~If there was a 6 month waiting period for preexisting, they will never pay this. The laws side with insurance companies, and that is the people are responsible to know everything about their policy. So appealing will not get you anywhere. If you still want to try, simply write to them requesting a review, and give your reason as never receiving any information from them to know this, you can request proof of where it was given to you (depending on state laws that could give you some help), and make sure you mail it certified and return receipt requested. Best of luck.~~

When you write an appeal, to win that appeal, you have to base it on the reason coverage was denied. So if there's a six month waiting period, you either have to show them the six months was up, or that you had prior credible coverage so that the waiting period should NOT have been six full months. You'd have to back that up with documentation.
