Is there a website where professional authors can meet?

Is there a website where professional authors can meet? Topic: What types of writing skills are there
May 25, 2019 / By Hadassa
Question: I am Storm Kesocascay, a beginning author. I am wondering if there is a website where all types of authors can meet up and talk about different ideas or just talk. If I can find one, it will really help my writing skills. Thanks.

There are places where authors hang out... have you done a google search for author forum? Here's one for Amazon authors... http://www.amazon.com/forum/meet%20our%20authors If you need a web host to host your website for your new books, check out http://www.WorldTopHost.com

Sexism and Reading: A Critical Review of the Literature by Albert J. Kingston and Terry Lovelace Sexism in Reading Materials by Kathleen W. Bordelon The female thermometer : eighteenth-century culture and the invention of the uncanny by Terry Castle Hemingway and Women: Female Critics and the Female Voice: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_70... Also, the Beat poets wrote in the 50's. Check out the following essay because I think I recall it containing some information about sexism in Beat writings: "Deconstructing and Reconstructing the Beats: New Directions in Beat Studies" by Robert Bennett (it can be found in a journal called College Literature - 32.2, Spring 2005, pp. 177-184)

This question belongs in Books & Authors... but Ain't I A Woman by Sojourner Truth is one I can think of off the top of my head.

I have several friends that are professional authors. Years ago they hung out on Genie but now they just send emails or skype each other. You should think about going to writer's workshops. Check your community college for one.

Yes, but I don't go as far as making a trailer for my book. However, I do that anyway with existing books, because I LOVE book trailers! BQ: I think Wattpad is okay, but it is riddled with teens who don't have a clue about writing. Most of them misspell simple words that could have easily been avoided if they were to write it out on Word and then copy and paste it into the box. Most of them don't know how to use punctuation, like how you either put a comma or a full stop at the end of someones speech instead of leaving it blank. Loads of them have grammatical errors and *very* cliched ideas and plot lines. Some of the stories on there make me vomit a little bit in my mouth. BQ2: Not really. The only "rule" that I get annoyed with is when I rate my story "R," it doesn't come up on the "What's New" page, so no one finds your story. I also hate how they have tried to turn it into Facebook. Though, in a way I like it to, but I wish they'd let your fans comment on your status. What I love about Wattpad is how you can create your own covers and add pictures and picture slide-shows with a Youtube video inside the story. I like how you can get lots of votes, but it has turned into a little bit of a popularity contest with everyone trying to get on the What's Hot list, some even going as far as begging for votes. Some automatically get on the What's Hot list by association with another story that they did that gradually became popular. BQ3: I am on Wattpad, and the time here is 7:40pm.

I hate one of their rules. Being a 13 to sign up. I am only an 10 years old boy. So now I could not use it.
