How to meet kids my age in a farm-based town where kids hardly do anything, and I'm home schooled? Topic: How to write a long term goal

Question: I've gotten a job and went on walks, but the teens are hardly outside (or on their annoying motorbikes), and I only talk to one boy at my job (but nothing outside that). The teens hardly do anything besides go to school, ride on their four-wheelers, and get high. That's about it. I kinda feel like I'm not missing much since I'm homeschooled. This is a small, farm-based town where the people and I hardly have anything in common. How can I meet more kids my age if there no stores, clubs, or ANYTHING here. The only thing we have is a restaurant (which I work at). I've thought about going up and saying "hi" to random people, but that would just be weird. What do I do? I'm trying to be an anti-social like my mom and HER mom! Please help me! @ Diamond and Naomi Tate: Those are both good ideas! But yeah I am afraid Garret's friends (the guy I work with) are all stoners. I don't know for sure, but he's one. And btw: I can't travel cuz I don't have any money. If I did, I wouldve moved out of this stupid, boring town a long time ago! Sorry, I just read what I wrote before. I meant I'm trying NOT to be an anti-social like my mom and her mom!

Homeschooling depends completely on what you and your family make it out to be. There are so many ways to homeschool. Some people sign up for a correspondence or online school and sit at a desk at home and run it like a school. That works for some people, but it can get lonely and can be hard to keep up if you aren't a self-starter. Some people choose their own curriculum, buy textbooks, and design their own schedule and assignments. This usually gives them more freedom since there isn't an institution telling them what to do when. They can stop lessons to go on a field trip, get together with friends, go on a vacation, etc. Some people devise their own curriculum, using library books or whatever they wish. This has even more freedom. Often nontextbooks are more interesting to read and are written at a higer level than textbooks, so you can learn more, but some people worry about not having a guide as to what to teach. Some people hire a tutor to help when necessary. Some take classes taught by other homeschool parents, or offered by tutoring centers, or cultural institutions, or private studios. Most people use a combination of different methods. They may use an online school for one subject and devise their own curriculum for the others and hire a tutor when necessary. Cost? Unless you're planning to hire a full-time teacher to teach you at home, the cost of homeschooling should be less than private school. But the cost will depend on the method and materials you choose. Most homeschoolers can buy materials for the year for about $400. Less if they buy used textbooks or design their own curriculum. More if they use a school to do all the recordkeeping and take lots of expensive classes. If you are considering homeschooling for high school, I'd strongly recommend reading the book called "And What About College? How homeschooling leads to admissions to the best colleges and universities" by Cafi Cohen. Good luck Some people

I consider men and women see some thing performed at residence as "homeschooling." I do think there's a change and I consider that during a few approaches the general public university at residence methods have a few of the negatives of public colleges and will hold men and women from pursuing methods that could be extra rewarding to their households. I additionally consider this can be a software being utilized by the federal government to hold manage and hold a few of their investment. I consider the federal government has a vested curiosity in retaining men and women clear of real homeschooling. However, I consider for a few households that is the security internet they ought to take their youngsters out of the general public university school room and there are lots of advantages to doing so. I am lovely ok with them being lumped into the equal class, however I absolutely appreciate your factor that they're 2 specific matters.
