Quality Poll: Would you pay a few bucks more to know your food and other purchases were indeed safe?
Topic: Case study pdf example
June 17, 2019 / By Ashton Question:
With all the recent news about contaminated foods, poisonous/dangerous toys, etc, would you pay more if you knew, absolutely, that the product had been overseen by good Quality Control?
(Ten years of Quality Control experience here! lol)
Yes, you WOULD think there is already quality control applied to our food products.
Case in point to counter that assumption: The almost annual e. coli outbreaks we have here in the U.S., with U.S. produced food.
Also, I can't afford much more in food costs either, and I live alone with no kids!
Ink Corporate: All you mentioned, my friend, WOULD be covered by good Quality Control.
Incoming inspections are done upon receipt of raw material (including a paper trail of how the material got to you), during and after production, and before final release of product to leave the factory.

I already do by buying locally grown US organic food. I feel that my hamburger, as an example, is a lot safer being produced by a small local family-owned farm than by the large multinational conglomerate, Archer Daniels Midland's, mass production via undocumented workers....with all of this protected under the umbrella of a billion dollar lobbyist firm.
To get the "quality control" for US produced food products you're talking about, there would have to be huge changes in the current political lobbyist structure. In my opinion, the FDA is just a government mouthpiece that is embarrassingly underfunded & undermanned anyway & has no ability to enforce any effective controls.
Read the following study & look at the current staggering amount of food that's imported into our country & compare the shockingly low % that is actually inspected:
As far as imported food product safety, look at this week's story on Melamine injected into some of the chocolate products produced by China. I agree with Ink Corporate, how can you control chemical additives injected into our food by other countries? Who cares about the paper trail! By the time the damage is done & the problem found, innocent people have become sick and/or died. http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/09...
To have Quality Control don't you have to have honest compliance to standards? How can you govern other countries practices? You can't.

I am routinely amazed at how much and what people I see in the grocery store buy when on food stamp program...I have often wondered why I do not quit my job and go on it...the people I see seem to eat better ( quality, quantity, and assortment) than I do...I work for a living...pay my bills and taxes...yet I have not been able to afford a roast or a good steak in months ( I opt for things that can make several meals and are cost effective)...Frozen convenience foods are a nono as they are not cost effective in my opinion...ice cream is a treat that is enjoyed only every few months if times are good...and to me snack foods are something that can double as a meal or atleast a cost effective ingredient in one...I am truly starting to believe I was raised all wrong maybe it is not important to pull ones own weight in this life...and to let the gov't support me might be the way to go.
Ever notice how they all have cell phones too?
I'm going to go blissfully on my merry way happy in my assumption that this is already taking place; even though, I know that to be untrue. There are so many things to worry about in the world. Right now I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to be able to afford food at all, let alone some that had decent quality control.

I sure would and do it all the time' as i could get cheaper meat prices at the cambodian store' but i go to albertsons as i know they cut it there and it came off a farm and was US inspected.I am scared to even eat tomatoes or lettuce from fruit stands anymore' as i have kids and i would just be sick if my son got a food borne disease if it could of been helped.

I'm not really sure that many people can afford to pay more for food. Since it is food-shouldn't we already be guaranteed that it is safe without having to pay more-I mean isn't that part of the deal?

yes i try to buy free range beef and chicken. fresh eggs and milk. organic if possible. luckily i live in dover, de we have an amish market just down the street. they still use horses and old fashioned methods of farming so it's a blessing.

Yes i would but at this point I really don't care any more, I can only imagine what I've been eating all these years

No, I'd be more concerned about what they did to it, researched it , injected into it, and the continuous handling of it before it reaches the consumer market.

What do you mean by poor quality?
For a good speech, you need to have done the research before you committed to a conclusion (buying organic).
In other words, you're screwed making claims you can't back up, unless you want to sound like an infomercial or a lawyer.
