Ok to answer all your questions in one, stick with the HP, it has a larger and faster hard drive, 640GB 7200rpm compared to the 500GB 5400rpm, the cpu runs a little faster, the screen is larger. It HAS Blue-ray in it so you can watch Blue-ray movies. I would just keep that one. If you want to know the computer I have, it's the Gateway FX P7805-u great gaming laptop. Check out on gateway's website, they have newer versions, but if you can find one of this, i've been able to play my games pretty dang good. It has an Nvidia Geforce 9800M GTS with 1GB DDR3 Dedicated ram. But all in all, I'd keep the HP.

Not a gamer and can't speak personally about technical aspects, but I now own both computers. My 17" HP is a DV 9205. Nothing but problems: hinges break, wifi disappears, microphone for Skype breaks, and have it all fixed on warranty. Second year and wifi goes, leading to complete breakdown of motherboard. This is well documented online. So with a $400 repair of new motherboard that lasts 3 months, I scrap the HP. Just purchased the Sony 16.4 and await delivery. Played with it in store but ordered online. Macesque keyboard, great Motion Eye camera, beautiful graphics and in silver it's the best looking laptop I've seen. As I said, not a gamer but the look of the Sony is exceptional and I just can't recommend the HP after all the documented online problems. People are so fed up there's talk of a class action suit. For me, I'm taking my chances on the Sony. Bottom line, it's luck of the draw with laptops from what I can see.

First of all, If you have the room for it and the budget get a full tower case such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... You'll appreciate the extra room to work around in there. Mid cases are airflow nightmares. Secondly, sandbridge may or may still have issues. To be safe, get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... A new mobo just came out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... It comes with a built in NIC card that's specifically meant for gaming and is worth over $100. Get G.Skill brand Ram with low latency since you're splurging: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231405 Power Supply: Solid choice Video Card: 2 GeForce GTX 580 Cooling: frozencpu.com Go buy a kit and some waterblocks for your video cards and everything. It'll be worth it and the NZXT case is compatible with it.

u should buy the fans with the leds already built in to it and look on amazon for bluray drives. makes sure the blu ray drives can read other discs like dvds or u will have to buy dvd drives separately. oh and ati all the way. its better than nvidia and if u have the patience wait for the new ati 6990 or buy two radeon 6970 and u should be good.get an amd cpu cuz they are cheaper and work just as good as an intel core. intel cores u have to overclock them for them to be of any use and are really expensive. im talkin close to 1000 bucks for a core with ~2.8 ghz. ( im talkin about the intel i7 extreme edition of course!) i would say get an amd phenom II quad core cpu. i think that one comes with 3.0 or 3.2 clockspeed OUT OF THE BOX. AND each cpu will have 3.0 or 3.2 clock speed so do the math. u can get hex cores but it is not necessary. the keyboard and mouse u chose are good choices. im not too sure in the way of motherboards but anything by asus is top of the line. also u want a 1 to 2 terabyte hard drive. i would say get 2 terabytes on ur hard drive. get a coolermaster case from amazon.com. the one u chose is good but coolermaster is better IMO. plus coolermaster cases have vents built in to their cases. 12 gigs of ram? perfect and they are ddr3 so u shouldnt get any lag in ur games coupled with that ati card. other than that, nohthing else i can think of. hope this helps. )

you quite could improve all of it. i'd commence with the video card first, like a radeon 7950 or a gtx 670 a minimum of. Then the RAM, bump it as a lot as 8 gigs. Then the processor, that you'll even could improve the motherboard for. i'd advise an i5 3570k and an asrock z77 severe 4 motherboard.
