Question: We are planning to move to Canada and have to choose between both the above cities. I understand that the weather is less colder in Delta, BC, which works for us. Would love to know the pros and cons of living in these areas. Thank you.

Have you applied for Immigration approval yet ? Have you been granted approval by the Canadian Government, to come to Canada, to live and seek employment ? If the answer is no, you aren't coming to Canada. If you HAVE been granted approval, as Immigrants, then your two choices are quite different, both in location and geography. Mississauga is located right next to Toronto, and it is the fifth largest city in Canada, with a large land area, and a modern design. It did not exist prior to 1974, as a city. As a result of it's modern evolution, it has a well designed street system, with lots of city parks and recreation areas. Mississauga is located on the shores of Lake Ontario, and it has mostly residential areas with single family homes, mixed with apartment towers, and town house developments. Average resale prices for a single family home, 2000 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and a garage on a nice street will be about 500 k dollars. Some one else will come along and tell you about Delta. Congrats in your pursuit of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc! I'm not a member of the organization, but like you, I'm interested. What's important is that the person who is writing the letter is indeed a member, a member in good standing, meaning financial. Sounds like you're in good hands if the newly initiated member knows you well and can write a strong letter. That's what you want.

Your best bet is always to go with a newly initiated Soror, because she's guaranteed to be financial! If you have a Soror write your letter who is not financial, your application will be thrown out, so I say go for it!

Why do you want to pledge in the first place? I am sure you are very attractive and intellegent on your own without being substantiated by a bunch of pseudo-intellectual, gossiping hens. Don't pledge at all. It will change you for the worst.

Delta is just fine: good temperature all year round, if you don't mind rain. Usually very little snow. Mississauga on the other hand, is in southern Ontario, which this year, is struggling with very low temperatures. Beautiful community, within driving distance and time-wise to the United States.... Niagara Falls etc. You would be good in Delta...
