Can anyone translate this korean sentence *please read the details first*? Topic: Case sentence structure
May 26, 2019 / By Chevonne
Question: i got the overall meaning of the korean sentence below, but i need to see the structure of the sentence and the meaning of each word.. so could you translate each word (e.g 내 means "my", 자릴 means "...", and so on) and maybe explain if there's any particle used for that word and such? thank you =) the sentence is >>> 내 자릴 만들어 놓고서, 친구 아닌 *i just need that part of the sentence, but if it's not clear, if needed, this is the full sentence: 그녀의 옆에 영원히 곁에. 내 자릴 만들어 놓고서 친구 아닌. 남자로 변해 슬픔은 없도록 지켜줄 거라고 안아주며 말할거야. ***i have asked this question a few days ago yet didnt get any good answers. back then none of the answers explained each words and mostly said that it's weird cos the sentence was cutted off. so here i ask again, with (hopefully) a clearer question, and i add the full sentence just in case its needed. hope you can help me, thank you =)*** @AJ aw yes yes i'd reallyy appreciate it if you could translate the whole paragraph <3 i think this is the full one? 그녀의 옆에 영원히 곁에 내 자릴 만들어 놓고서 친구 아닌 남자로 변해 슬픔은 없도록 지켜줄 거라고 안아주며 말할거야 i'm sorry i'm not good at korean, i had no idea that the sentence was cut off -_- thank youu for helping! =)

Hello hello : ) Okay , the sentence IS cut off. However, I believe that is intentional because it is written in an informal/slang style. 내 자릴 만들어 놓고서, 친구 아닌 This is a tricky sentence to literally translate as there are language techniques that Koreans apply which do not make sense in English. However, I'll try my best. Literally translated means : (You) made a seat for me, (You) who is not my friend. "내" means "My/I" "자릴" means "seat" "만들어" means "makes" "놓고서" is the verb "To put" "친구" means "friend" "아닌" means "is not". Pretty much to break it down, it means "you cared for my even though you're not my friend." Implying the person is touched by that. I understand why people did not know what the sentence meant, the whole paragraph makes it alot more easier. It sounds like some Love poem or lyrics to a song. I'd be happy to translate the whole paragaph if you want me to : ) Just give me a shout out haha OKOK : ) Here's the translation : ) 그녀의 옆에 Next to her 영원히 곁에 Eternally near her. 내 자릴 만들어 놓고서 I make a seat (as in, i sit down). 친구 아닌 (A person) who's not a friend 남자로 변해 (I )Turn into a boy/man 슬픔은 없도록 "Making sure there is no sadness" 지켜줄 거라고 "Pledging to protect (her)" 안아주며 말할거야 As I am hugging (her) I will tell her haha sounds extremely weird but thats the literal translation. Its some poem or love song lyrics? Its pretty straightforward, only part that I'd say is confusing is the line which says "Turning into a man" It pretty much means the writer is going to be someone who is noticed as a man, as opposed to a boy. Last 3 lines, just means that as he hugs the girl, he will tell vow to protect her and make her not sad (happy). I tried my best at explaining, haha im a terrible teacher but I sincerely hoped it helped : ) Again, Im happy to help with any other Korean translations. I'm not fluent, fluent at the language myself but its my mothertounge : )
