Help with Blackberry Pearl 8100?
Topic: Case select in java
July 20, 2019 / By Dianna Question:
There is a new update for the blackberry pearl, which I downloaded, and started to update the actual phone. While it was updating, the phone got disconnected from the computer, and now the computer can not find the phone anymore. The applications on the phone have also been deleted. Is there anyway to reset the phone completely? At this point, the only way to turn it off is to take the battery out. Taking the battery out does not reset the phone, and taking the SIM card out does nothing.

1. Install the desktop software.
2. Install the handheld software. (If it is a non Vendor software.. exp. T-Mobile. search and delete the "vendor.xml" file.)
3. Pull the battery out of your device.
4. With the battery out connect the device to the computer.
5. Go to Options and select "connection settings"
6. Select USB PIN this may take a few moments since there is no battery in the device. you might even have to select detect device in some rare cases.
7. Select the application loader icon.
8. Select all software you want installed.
9. Proceed to the end portion untill you see the "Finish" button.
10. Very IMPORTANT. do not hit the finish button, instead select the ADVANCED button.
11. Make sure both boxes are checked.
12. Proceed until it asks you if you want to automatically back up and restore. Select DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY BACK UP MY HANDHELD.
13. Once the process starts. take care not to bump out the cord and re-insert the battery. Again on some rare occasions you might have to wait until it finishes saying connect to insert the battery.
THIS MAY FAIL THE FIRST OR SECOND TIME DONT WORRY JUST KEEP TRYING.
If you do not get it by the 3rd time.. download the Blackberry java developers kit and install it. once installed find the javaloader.exe file and move it into the c:\ directory
Once it is under the c:\, go to start then run and type. cmd.exe
After the command prompt apears type in "c:\javaloader -usb wipe" to wipe the handheld
*The reason I have highlighted Step 13 is that this is very important to do BEFORE the DM tries to re-start your device because it WILL NOT re-intialize your device IF THE BATTERY IS NOT IN YOUR DEVICE

I've had mine for about 7 months now, and I like it. It has always worked fine, and it holds a charge pretty good. It's pretty durable too--I've dropped it quite a few times and it never breaks, and I don't use a case or cover of any sort and it has very minimal scratches on the screen. I'm not sure what features you will use, but I do have to say that if you're not planning on using it for email and internet, it's not really worth it. Some people don't like that there are two letters per key instead of one like the other Blackberrys, but that doesn't bother me at all. It's still in the qwerty format, and it has some kind of smart-text program so it knows what word you're trying to type. And if it guesses wrong, there's a list on the bottom of the screen with different combos that you can just scroll over to and pick. It's super fast to text on compared to a regular cell phone!!

ok if you dont use a holder then use the case that it comes with or stuff will get in the track ball and mess it up ie it sticking.
also they have a lot of problems with memory if your going to store music or pics get a mem card or your phone will start to delete email and txt on its own.
but they are really durible and light weight. also you can always go to crackberry.com and get free ringtones
I dislike facet Kicks. they're stressful! Lol. that could be a toy!! Blackberry's are super! The keys - it is not that complicated to apply. that is incredibly precise lots of the time. i do no longer understand why some human beings do no longer in undemanding terms like the Pearl. that could be a super telephone. I very own a Curve. i admire the enormous monitors. So I have been given a Curve! Blackberry's are thoroughly well worth it! Lol i did no longer different than for me to love my telephone as much as I do. I became an addict to this telephone. if you are going to get a Pearl get the present version of it. in the event that they supply it which incorporate your service. i might advise a CURVE. nonetheless. larger demonstrate screen. complete QWERTY keyboard. extremely than the SureType of the Pearl. yet incredibly. the two are super. x]

i would get the navy blue, because i'm pretty much about simple and chic. being like that, i would get a plain case. i think bling cases look tacky and you're brother is right - the gems will fall off.
