Parking citation in Los Angeles? Topic: How to write a parking appeal letter
June 25, 2019 / By Stafford
Question: I received a parking ticket from the city of Los Angeles in the mail but I don't live there I haven't been to Los Angeles in 3 years. I sent a letter informing them that I do not live there and they mailed this ticket in error. They sent a letter back saying after "careful" review that the information coincides with that provided by the DMV. Has this ever happened to anyone?? Unfortunately I did not purchase anything that day which is shocking to me out of all the days. @civil_av8r The license plate number is correct the make and model of the car. The only thing was the color of my car they said it was black and it is grey. No one borrowed my car. I live in Fresno Ca. I purchased things the day before but not the day of. From the sounds of it I do not think i can prove that i was not there. I just find it strange that the license plate number and the make of the car are the same. @siamesedharma That is exactly what I was thinking and the funny thing is that I do have a Toyota Camry. I did appeal it and mentioned that the car was not the same color but that was not enough. Oh well, thank you very much. @siamesedharma

Did someone else borrow your car? Where were you that day? Can you prove you were at work or somewhere else? How far away from L.A. do you live? Does the ticket have a correct description of your car? If the description is different, maybe they wrote down the wrong license plate number. EDIT: From your information I'm thinking they wrote down the wrong license number. If you have a very common model of car, like a Toyota Camry, it's possible since there are so many of them. You can try appealing on the basis that the color is different, but black and grey may look very similar. You are probably going to be stuck paying this ticket. A big part of the city of L.A.'s revenue comes from parking tickets. They used to ticket people who parked at broken meters even if the meter was not fixed for several days.

This Site Might Help You. RE: Parking at the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal? Is the parking at the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal (San Pedro) in a covered garage, or in an open lot?
Otis Originally Answered: Parking at the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal?
It is open. Parking is $12 a day. It is sometimes better to stay at a hotel overnight and pay for their parking packages which are about $50 a week. I will be cruising in January and will pay about $100 at The Vagabond Hotel to park for 2 weeks (plus hotel for one night at about $70). That means for about the same price as terminal parking I get parking and a night in the hotel. ₪ ɦəlʞɹɐq ₪

Do you have any bank statements showing you were nowhere near LA at the time? I believe the only way you can get out of this is to prove you weren't in LA at the time of the ticket.

Choose your battles. You've got a lot on your plate. If you have the time, the energy and want to deal with the frustration, then fight it. If you're busy, want to put it behind you and move on, study and work or whatever, then pay the fine and be done with it. Principals are expensive in more ways than one. If you are somewhere in between talk to a supervisor and see what's what. You seem pretty reasonable and may be able to wiggle out without much effort. There are still only 24 hours in one day. Plan accordingly.

There is no such thing as an optional handicapped parking spot. It's either a handicapped spot or it isn't. If there is a wheelchair handicapped symbol on the ground it is a handicapped parking space. You would still have to pay the fine since it is clearly marked and you acknowledge that you knew it was marked. However I would bring up the fact there aren't the blue metal signs in front of two of the spots and ask for them to be put up so no one else gets confused. Also this might be a stupid question but did you check for sure if the other students that have parked there had a handicapped permit or not (there are a few different types including the hanging blue or red ones in the car and there are ones that go on the license plate(s)
