Agua-Luna Ranch is located in west Texas near Big Bend National Park. Its a 100% off grid Ranch, hosting internships and volunteering in self sustainability and renewable energy, on the ranch and abroad. In fact we just got back from The Amazon doing a sustainable project in Peru on in the rain forest. There is no rooming rate for staying on the ranch but there is a $100 per month fee for food. Currently we're putting up an A frame structure for intern winter housing, building a reservoir and have 9 solar panels and a wind turbine that's being raised. Later this summer we'll be heading down to Mexico for a job as well as traveling back to the Amazon. Feel free to visit the site for more info and pics... www agua-luna com/internship.html Hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if you’d like assistance in making your first self sufficient steps, I’m willing to walk you step by step threw the process. I’ve written several how-to DIY guides available at www agua-luna com on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others help the environment. you need to be employed by somebody, usually a university with a research program in your field of zoology such as etymology, ornithology, herpetology etc. the employer will give you a grant from a private donation, or maybe you can just skip employment and get a nice donation from a rich person. the grant giver may or may not tell you where to go and what to do, and if they don't and you get to choose, it won't be the vacation you seem to be expecting. you'll have to work your ***-off to make sure you don't come home empty handed because if they give you that much freelance with such diverse options then they're trusting you to not *** it up

Wildlife biologists can do a variety of jobs, they can travel the world, or they can be native or select a particular species that occupy a particular area and stay and study in that area. Two good examples is Jane Goodall, and her study on chimps or the famous Steve Irwin. It all depends, you need to do lots of studying on the different terms. But one thing most all biologists go into is biology, physiology, and ecology. If you really want to be on the move then I suggest you look into studying avian biology aka birds.

Yes, many of them do! Zoologists often must do field work to gain knowledge about how animals live in the wild. I think that 'wildlife biologist' or 'ecologist' would be your best bet for traveling to study animals!

I work with wildlife in South Africa and there are a lot of companies, parks and sanctuaries that accept volunteers to come and work with not only the animals, but also the communities in the area. Very rewarding. I recommend South Africa, it's safe, diverse and very friendly.

You can do volunteer work at a homeless shelter. Help out at a soup kitchen or a food bank. Teach someone to read. Visit a nursing home. Help a child with his or her homework. You can work at an animal shelter. Look up on the internet for volunteer opportunities in your area. All the best.

Contact one of your local HUD/Section 8 Housing projects. You can volunteer with their communities youth with after-school programs. You could also volunteer to check on the elderly in their community.
