Intense Headache, Left side by eye. Causes?

Intense Headache, Left side by eye. Causes? Topic: Case side by side
June 25, 2019 / By Clairene
Question: I have been suffering from intense, throbbing, really painful headaches. They last for up to five mins and then it becomes a dull ache again. The pain is on the left side by my left eye and above it and especially along my left cheek bone. What could be causing these and what can be done? I have taken ibuprofen and codeine to try and help and that sorts the dull ache but when its intense for the five mins or so noting helps. Also, what could be causing these. I could be sat watching tv and then all of a sudden it starts. I wont have changed position or had anything to eat or drink. Very confused and worried. I am planning on seeing a doc, but its a bank holiday tomorrow and then the weekend. I don't drink so alcohol is not the problem. But thanks anyway!

This can be caused by multiple issues. The most likely two are migraines or irritation of the craniofacial nerves. Migraines are caused by any number of things including the consumption of certain foods, exposure to light and sounds, certain odors, eye irritation from computer or television screens, etc. They typically present as localized headaches of the variety which you describe. Since migraines are very difficult to treat, it is not surprising that medications have not helped. However, if migraines are the culprit, you have nothing to worry about. They may be painful, but migraines are largely harmless. If you have nerve irritation, you may be able to rid yourself of your headaches by simply changing the position in which you sit, stand or sleep. Try not to watch television for a few days, and limit your time at the computer. Try also to relax as much as possible to relieve pressure on irritated nerves. To deal with these types of headaches or the migraines, stay away from stimulants such as coffee or chocolate, and drink lots of water. Try to keep your body temperature down so that your blood pressure remains low. This will decrease swelling and irritation and make you feel better. If neither of these causes is the culprit, you may have more serious issues to deal with. because the pain is localized, and near an eye, it can be caused by optic nerve issues. these can be mild issues (you might need glasses) or very serious ones (increased pressure in the brain, optic nerve damage, tumors etc). The latter are far less likely, so I would not worry about them if I were you. In any case, it is a good idea to discuss these symptoms with a physician just to be on the safe side. Stick to your appointment, and try to provide the doctor with specific information. the doctor will want to know what time of day these headaches typically appear, what you were doing before they appeared, if you ate anything prior to onset of symptoms, or if you had a great deal of stress before hand. Try to keep track of your headaches until you visit the doctor so that you can fully answer these questions.

pl see what suits you. If you are in cold country use all warm things. Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm. If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help. Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try. Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief. If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture. There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic. Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it. Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see. Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds. The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more. Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole. Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there. But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong. If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds. For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below. It may disappear naturally too. The suspected problem is that fluorescent light flickers, although a normally functioning bulb flickers so rapidly that it's not perceived by the human eye. Preliminary evidence is mixed on whether fluorescent lights are more likely to cause headache or other discomfort than other types of lighting. However, any kind of light that's either excessively bright, glaring, or dim may strain the eyes and trigger a headache. To minimize that strain, position your work station to reduce glare from windows or overhead light source. Or use desk lamps, which can be positioned and adjusted to minimize glare and optimize brightness and good luck.

Sinusitis, probably. The sinus cavities are above your eye and along your cheek bone area. Alcohol aggravates sinusitis, so try abstaining if you have been drinking a bit over the holiday. Have a go at steam inhalation and see if it helps to ease the pain.

So you mean in your pelvic area not the walls of the vagina right? As in right above where your public hair is? If so, that's the same area where your ovaries are located and if it's one side it could be a cysts that's ruptured or is about to rupture on your ovary. It could also be fibroids or even ovarian cancer. Don't get scared right now, it's just worst case scenario. You should have a doctor do an ultrasound and check out the problem. I know that's not normal. I know you're wondering why sex would hurt if it's a problem with your ovaries but I have endometriosis on my ovaries and sex hurt even though there is no possible way he could reach my ovaries. I don't know how it works but I do know it hurts! Now, if you mean on the inside of your vaginal wall... then I'm not sure. It could be an infection or just being too rough during sex and you scraped it... not sure, if the paid persists, you should have it checked out.
